simplification of registration - prosilver
What do you think about simplifying prosilver registration? Something similar to xenforo or ips. no time zone or language selection.
Re: simplification of registration - prosilver
Personally, I don't see how phpBB registration is more complex than the screenshots above.
Re: simplification of registration - prosilver
The only thing that I would agree with being removed is the language selector where there is only one language on the board (in fact I thought that used to happen)

Re: simplification of registration - prosilver
Agreed. And to provide context this is the phpBB registration form which has the same 4 user-entry fields as Xenforo:

inupts and buttons should be enlarged.
in phpbb the buttons and inputs are very small. Fast in the attachment. It's about enlarging buttons and inputs.

Re: simplification of registration - prosilver
Ok, but that's not simplifying anything which is what you titled this topic. So is the purpose of your post to suggest improvements to the look and feel of registration then? If so then that's already being taken care of in the new style.

Yes, I know, but I propose these changes in the prosilver because it will probably also be in version 4.0?

Re: simplification of registration - prosilver
As far as I can tell prosilver will not be in 4.0. With the amount of changes being done to the backend to support the front end prosilver is effectively dead from 4.0 onwards.
Re: simplification of registration - prosilver
prosilver will be maintained at 4.0 at a minimum. subsequent releases 4.x and on however might see it removed from being shipped. That is the current plan. After that, it can be taken up by the community to manage if they see fit as a normal style.
The registration changes that are required to the back-end and HTML are what should be talked about here. If you want to provide mock-ups for chameleon as a starting base to identify any potential changes in regards to prosilver then by all means. But the conversations should be focused on what should or should not be there. What services we should be supporting. What info would be required and how it should be broken up so we can make any decisions about if things need to change to the code or database.
The main thing I see in the provided examples as a change in that regard is the moving of registration from a page to a modal...
