Re: simplification of registration - prosilver
The point of the OP was about font and element sizes in prosilver which is a strange thing to point out just in registration since that would be something that would apply to the whole style. There isn't anything provided here that "simplifies" anything in registration. I don't know that having a modal for registration improves anything.
Re: simplification of registration - prosilver
Modal would simplify the registration in terms of speed. You wouldn't have to load a new page just to register.
Re: simplification of registration - prosilver
But is speed really an issue with registration? It is not as if members are registering several times a day - they do it once.
To me moving to a modal is more cosmetic that anything.
What should be included with registration is Ajax checking of data validity when the data is entered - now that can speed up registration.

Ajax is good idea. Look in phpbb all buttons and inputs are very small. acceptance of the regulations upon registration should not be a separate page, only marked with an input with a tick. I would also remove the option to choose the language and time zone when registering. this can be set later in the profile management panel
nice as if registration and login were displayed in a popup

Can we have a definitive answer on this as this is a crucial piece of information.

Not permissible under GDPR where acceptance of a privacy policy has to be consensualDracoBlue_ wrote: ↑Sat Aug 28, 2021 8:11 am acceptance of the regulations upon registration should not be a separate page, only marked with an input with a tick

As the front end dev lead and person in charge of managing it I gave you the definitive answer!
GDPR has no requirement to be a separate page just that it’s a required field

Re: simplification of registration - prosilver
Agreed - but it cannot just be a tickbox - it has to be a positive action

Re: simplification of registration - prosilver
a tick box with a link so you can actually read it is the best solution imo. Something like on the 3rd img from the first post in this topic
Re: simplification of registration - prosilver
Acceptance of a Privacy Policy cannot be a tickbox, with or without a link, it has to be a positive action, so nothing less than an "I accept" button is permissible. Sorry if this upsets the layout but the law comes first.
