"Mark forums read" can be pressed accidentally in mobile devices

I got a few complaints from some of my users, that it's very easy to accidentally press the "Mark forums read" button when browsing from a mobile phone, due to its placement.
Imho, I think they are kinda right. Maybe this button needs to be moved.

Is it because it is on the right side in ltr reading mode?
I don't really know because I don't like touch screens.

I don't see a problem. It's no more accidentally touchable than any other link/button on screen.
Has an irascible disposition.

No, it's top right in ltr. While trying to scroll you may press it accidentally.

Maybe so, but the action is irreversible compared to other buttons.

edit: I just wanted to add that I got this complaint from my moderators.

Agreed. In most UI guidelines, any irreversible actions should require confirmation, so even including this on the Click event would be appropriate.
