But it's the "action" that's most important right? I personally think that the first line should really be an indication of the notification type.Mess wrote:but maybe reorder the information (like on the index)

I prefer Paybas second mockup, but maybe reorder the information (like on the index), and color code the notification titles (like in Forum rules) for mod messages?

I actually like that notifications currently look like Facebook's
Re: 3.1 notifications somewhat difficult to read
best of both worlds planing based off Mess's suggestion, add more space between avatar and text something like 10px. add overflow:hidden to forum title. Then add color to the action and make it bold and upper ie REPORTED
Re: 3.1 notifications somewhat difficult to read
that was an early mockup for a research project i was working on I actually ended up making it even larger http://midaym.com/test/mino/aleha wrote:+1 PayBas
hanakin, do you have a screenshot with the whole notification box or is the above a sketch?
also side by side comparisons of facebook vs current phpbb
another huge issue is avatars. we need to standardize square dimensions note mr DavidIQ's avatar is wide this is easily done by setting the css size on the image element

I like hanakin version as well!
Re: 3.1 notifications somewhat difficult to read
Paybas's seems the best for now. It should be fairly easy to switch to Paybas's mockup.
-1 To adding multiple links. I think the notification should just link to what it's notifying you about. Too many links in there might make it confused/cluttered.
Hanakin's are nice too, but that's a much larger change, and should be saved for 3.2, unless somebody thinks it can easily be knocked out, of course.

Has an irascible disposition.

With text-overflow: ellipsis, highlighted color, and avatar margin-right slightly increased.
