I think those are too ugly to replace prosilver with; I'd rather NOT replace prosilver if it's going to be replaced with something horrible.
These kids today...
Buy them books, send them to school and what do they do?

They eat the paste.

I think it's highly unlikely that prosilver will be replaced.

In fact, with all the new template events etc. many extensions will rely even heavier on proSilver. So either new styles will need to implement the same event listeners as proSilver 3.1, or styles need to use template inheritance.

I know this is a bit off topic but the referenced styles (here and here) were actually coded very well ;)

Those styles are far from optimal, code is outdated and messy.

But so are almost all third party phpBB styles :)

It doesn't matter since they're ugly. As I've said, style choices are subjective; what some like others won't.

Eventually, PS will need to be replaced and either they will add a second style to compete until PS is ready to be depreciated and removed or it'll have to be suddenly replaced with something new. I hope they add the second style (like EXreaction said) but DavidIQ seems to think that they won't. It won't be replaced short-term, that's for sure. ;)

This post frightens me.

If you're going to suggest replacing prosilver with something, that something should be clearly better than prosilver. It also needs to be neutral enough to still work for most applications. Those two styles work for very narrow applications.

Big no from me. Prosilver doesn't need to be replaced, in my opinion.
