I think it would be useful if on ACP page where admin can create or edit BBCode is one more block, where admin can preview and test BBCode he is working on.
I can imagine it as textarea where he can write test string and "Preview" button to generate preview of BBCode.

I like that idea. It probably goes without saying, but the BBCode shouldn't have to be "active" (submitted) before you could preview it.

Re: Test preview of BBCode (ACP)
If the preview area is light enough and simple to add I DO see a benefit but since it's not used that much it's really not that necessary. I bet most forums never add single bbcode and those that do only add them once and done so it's not that big of a deal either. It would help the *few* that write bbcodes more than the admins that install them.
These kids today...
Buy them books, send them to school and what do they do?
They eat the paste.

When you create the BBCode there is option "Display on posting page" and you have to tick it to let users to see the BBCode when they write the post. I guess no one will use the BBCode if it's not visible.Pony99CA wrote: It probably goes without saying, but the BBCode shouldn't have to be "active" (submitted) before you could preview it.

I think I'll do this on the side while changing the ACP for the WYSIWYG editor
