It would be a nice addition to have users be able to change the default style in the footer instead of having the user to go to the ucp, therefore they can change it no matter where they are on the forum. In order to make this work, make the overall_footer a little big bigger, and place the code for the style changer in it.
Is this a good idea?

Re: Allow users to change styles in footer
I'm not sure that people really change the style all that often. From my experience, a user may glance through the available styles shortly after registering and then just stick with the favorite. Also, it would simply take up space when only one style is installed.
Re: Allow users to change styles in footer
One way of dealing with the last issue is checking to see how many styles are installed (and can be used) then only show if if there more than one style can be selected.
(I didn't want to come across as a smart ass but I just wanted to point that out:))

and it also a -1, if I want it, I can add it in later with a mod
Re: Allow users to change styles in footer
Most boards have only one style available for the non-admins, so this wouldn't be of much use for most boards. Those who want it can easily accomplish this with an extension.
