Ok what just happened here with the post times???
Edit: never mind...someone thought it'd be interesting to edit their post and quote a post after that one. Makes for some confusion of course.

Re: [RFC] Modern profile fields in 3.1
When I enter my G+ username (which contain a 'ë'), I get:nickvergessen wrote:The fields for skype, google+, youtube, twitter and facebook have been merged.
Jabber is still hardcoded as it is also available as a notification method. So it's not that easy to move it to a custom profile field.
I think the validation is too strict for that field.The field “Google+” has invalid characters, only alphanumeric characters are allowed.

Well the ID works: 114085456084296652276
https://plus.google.com/114085456084296652276
Not sure where one can find the list of allowed characters for a google+ name.
Will try to ask Dragooon where he found it.

Can you at least remove the field from the UCP if Jabber is disabled in the ACP?nickvergessen wrote:Jabber is still hardcoded as it is also available as a notification method. So it's not that easy to move it to a custom profile field.

Re: [RFC] Modern profile fields in 3.1
1) How can I add other profile fields (like Location, Birthday, Interests...) on registration? Only custom profile fileds have "Visibility options" available...
2) Contact profile fileds should have ability to automatically display shortcut icon from linked website. It makes things easier and icons always up to date.
For example:
Instagram http://instagram.com/madonna -> http://d36xtkk24g8jdx.cloudfront.net/bl ... avicon.ico
Facebook http://facebook.com/madonna -> https://fbstatic-a.akamaihd.net/rsrc.ph ... iNYYpW.ico
And so on.
3) Btw, don't you think that contact fields should be opened in a new tab/window?

Microsoft is pulling the plug on WLM in China on 31 Oct 2014.
Microsoft's iconic MSN Messenger is closing down in China, the last market where it remains
Guess we should remove it too.
