Ok, I wasn't aware of that. Thank you for the explaination
Re: [RFC] Modern profile fields in 3.1
If WLM is mainland China only, then it should be removed. Obscure, outdated, or country-specific programs should not all have separate fields.

It's a custom profile field. You can easily delete it without much pain. Not sure it would be present on a fresh install but you're welcome to check and report it. We wouldn't delete it on an upgrade however.

So no twitter as its mostly US and netherlands specific, no youtube as its non-german,....KnocksX wrote:If WLM is mainland China only, then it should be removed. Obscure, outdated, or country-specific programs should not all have separate fields.
Also note, that there are hacks out there to still run wlm in non-china countries. The outdated fields are disabled for new installs. New fields are supposed to be added before the final of 3.1

About 25% of Twitter users are from the US.

And...KnocksX wrote:And?
If 25% of the users are from the US its fair to say most users?
Also, China has a population of 1.3 billion "potential" WLM users.
US has a population of 317 million "potential" twitter users...
Calling WLM obscure is a stretch.
Re: [RFC] Modern profile fields in 3.1
Umm no, 25% does not equal most. 51% equals most. Twitter is heavily used in Russia and Arab countries, especially for political protests.
Windows Live Messenger is not discontinued in China yet, but it will be soon. But even if it wasn't, if you are going to cater to China, then you should be including Baidu and tons of other Chinese messengers, which are much bigger than WLM, and if you're going to cater to other specific Asian countries, you should include KaKaoTalk, Line, etc.

Dude... Why waste time on removing something which is being used?
I would agree if it was a discussion about adding functionality, but this isn't.
Anyway, if its really important for you that it gets removed I guess you're free to make the ticket/pull request.
