IP ban guests?
theres not any chance 3.1/Ascraeus will have a default option to IP ban guests, is there?

What do you mean? Banning by IP is currently build in - and a "guest" is every user not logged in.

I think he means a system that will allow you to ban the Guest IP in the Database.
Like some sort of Ban link in the Whos online list to ban the guests..

That's something firewalls or alternatively webservers can do. I don't think that's a job for phpBB.

Hello,
IMO banning is only usefull for recent high-load attacks. The problem is, that phpBB has no maintenance policies and tasks for it. So you will have a lot of false positives. I prefer blocking with third-party remote blacklists: Blocking vs. banning.
