Mobile Style for phpbb.com

Post by wired076 »

I would like to see phpbb.com Have a mobile based style that makes it easier to use the site on mobile devices.

I know this may add more work for phpbb team but there is already a style that is in development that could possibly be used that is used on startrekguide.com and makes it much easier.

I look forward to others comments on this.

I'm making a style, but I don't think phpbb.com plan to use a mobile style any time soon.

Yeh not really completely neccessary, if your doing work on a forum anyway you will most likely be on a desktop computer.

It's a good idea, however... STG has a theme for this purpose, which supporters can access, and I use Tapatalk.com which is really awesome.

You shouldn't, their plugin has numerous and very severe vulnerabilities.

Oh! That's not good. I'll research it, hadn't heard that before.

The first result is actually off their own website ;)

Wow there have been a number of responses in the last few days.

I find as GravityDK mentioned that STG's mobile theme does the job nicely on mobile devices.

The issue I find on the phpBB site is that I sometimes wish to either reply to a pm or a thread. When using the standard ProSilver style on a mobile device it is very difficult to view the entire text box for composing a message once it has reached the end of the box and you want to check what you wrote at the top of the text box there is no easy way to navigate back to the top.

I am unsure whether this issue exists on SubSilver2.

Callum your website style looks cool however without zooming on the iPhone the text is a bit small on the forum.

Are you using your mobile site on this site yet??

This site? It's not mine, it's not up to me :)

When I used it on an iPhone it was fine :/ Anyway this is off topic, if you want to talk about what I've done either go on my website or I've got a couple threads on phpbb.com.
