What project do you think the phpBB distributed computing team should help?

That was me, And I have no idea why, sorry, cancer research would be no good for this sort of scheme and the human genome is already mapped? I do think its important for the open-source compunity to find ETI before microsoft does or they'll instal windows on alien technology and make it crash (or just make it seem really slow) before we have chance to benifit.

Mapping the human genome is VERY different to knowing what the pieces do.

what about Mersenne Prime? We could use the $100,000 to fund a central phpBB server that of course all participants would have space on for life....

I would have suggested that if it had teams, I'm quite sure it doesn't.
I rule.

Plus, think about the odds. At least with the others we can definately do something to help the human race.

From the FAQ:
[quotede6b7]Your chance of success is roughly 1 in 250,000[/quotede6b7]

[quotede6b7="Han Solo"]Don't ever tell me the odds![/quotede6b7]

That's pretty damn good odds if ya ask me.I had been using SETI @ Home for almost two years when I had to stop using that, and I don't feel any particular warm fuzzies from that....

But OK, point taken. It was just a thought. I'm game for whatever. I don't know enough about the cancer thing to vote on that, but I do like and fully support SETI and could get it going again.....
