Change username

I have allowed my users to change their usernames however when in UCP even under account settings they cannot change it, it has no edit field are we going to the wrong section?

Just tested that and I'm seeing the same thing - username can't be edited after allowing it in the ACP -> Board Config -> Board Features.

Were the permission set right?

The group of the registered users must have the permission to edit the username. It will not work if you allow it only in ACP -> Board Config -> Board Features.

How do I (allow to) change a username? I did both as per below ticket, but still can not (let the user to) change a username.

Despite all permissions being set correctly, my users (including myself), can't change their username or e-mail address in the UCP. No input field is shown.

I searched for 'change username" but everywhere ends up with no final solution.

Also why do we have to login to phpbb so many times?

There are two steps required to allowed users to change their username. First, the setting in the Board Features area must be enabled. Secondly, the permission must be enabled per group or per user. If you have set permissions correctly for a group and it is still unable to use the feature, check the permission masks for a user that needs the functionality, to make sure another group's permissions are not overriding that permission.
