Insert PM function

I am wondering if anyone has created an insert pm function for phpbb3 yet. :geek:
Something that could take raw smilies, bbcode, etc and add it to the pms table

I know that phpbb3 has a send pm function of some sort but I cannot seem to locate the documentation ;)
