You can use a beta release in a live environment, but you are doing so at your own risk. In other words, no support will be provided if you decide to use the software in an active and live environment.

not just while you are using the beta, no support will be given if you update through to the gold, updated betas will not be supported either. So you are effectively giving up all support for the life time of the board

There isn't one 8O you might be better using the search feature in future as this has been discussed many times here and on phpBB.com. The software will be released when it is ready and not before, that means there are no actual set dates
