I think it's going to be in beta forever.

I don't think it would be.You have 3 months without any release and there is still plenty of bugs in the CVS version as well, so why release an RC version? Even if it's a short Beta 6 it would be still worth it as far as I am concerned

phpbb3 will always have bugs, that's the nature of large software dev products. You have to go rc1 sometime.

Really, the most important bugs are the ones we can't see in Security tracker.

If it is bug free software that determines the release of rc1, IT WILL NEVER COME. It is time for RC1. Any minor problems can be revised prior to gold or with an update.
yeah yeah yeah... I know... it will be ready when it's ready.

I agree....you can't make large software without bugs (just look at Windows :lol: )...
All of the most important bugs are fixed...but it doesn't mean that next will be RC1, I think that it'll be Beta6...

Why? That's not consistent with what the dev's have said.

I don't read every topic....where devs said that there won't be Beta6?

They expect RC1 unless there are over 500 bugs.

I would say : In your dreams it's going to be this weekend ...

install/schemas/schema_data.sql, line 206 has been steady as a rock since last release :

Code: Select all

INSERT INTO phpbb_config (config_name, config_value) VALUES ('version', '3.0.B6-dev');
The only ususal sign is hysteria here on area51, and that does not do it alone :) Near by and up to each earlier release the 3.0 bug tracker was almost empty, except at the Beta 2 release. Are any of you guys even suscribing to emailnotifications for CVS commits? - not much has been going on the last 24 hours or so - some commits from DavidMJ and one from SHS` - well, all developers are AFAIK living in the Northern hemosphere,and it's spring for them also. :)

I would be very surprised to see a new version this weekend, but I really hope that I'm wrong :D
