Re: Suspecting RC1 very soon!
Yeah I think it's just gone pop rather than anything big and exciting like RC1.
Re: Suspecting RC1 very soon!
Thanks guys, for killing off my hopes and expectations.
Life's a game. Just very badly programmed.
Re: Suspecting RC1 very soon!
I personnally think the main phpBB.com forum will stay with v2 till the gold release of v3
So I would not look for downtime on that as being anything connected in anyway.

I think your right about phpBB.com not being converted until Gold. I do think however that the server maintenance may be in preperation for the influx of support requests that will undoubtedly happen with the release of RC1.

Well, I don't think the Beta support forum on .com is putting so much pressure on server, and personally I do not expect the activity in that forum to increase so much after release af RC-1 - almost all common questions are already answered during the aggregation and build up of tons of usefull information in that forum during the last about 9 months.

The more people, the more questions, doesn't matter whether those question have already been answered or not. People just don't read.

Nicholas,
- well, it will be interesting to see what happens then. One thing that has crossed my mind several times is, if the main community site will be structured after deployment of phpBB 3.0 with use of subforums, ie :
1 Installation
2 Update
3 conversion
4 setup
5 daily operation
etc
- or what do I know ...

Re: Suspecting RC1 very soon!
Call me crazy but I keep seeing more and more changes everytime I come here, which lately hasn't been often. These past few months I visit maybe once a week, prior to my everyday. Now that I really look around I see some new stuff.
This is making me thinking that RC1 is not that far off the horizon. What will phpbb.com do? I have a few theories.
Keep in mind this is a neat theory, it probably won't happen. I think that one day, we are going to visit phpbb.com, check out the forum and walah! phpBB 3.0! It would be a nice surprise, and a "pop open wine/sparkling water" type day.
Nevertheless, I think phpBB 3.0 has come along more this past year in terms of completion and hype, more than it has in the past few years. I suspect phpBB is getting very close, maybe noth this month, but personally I see it going gold well before July.

I hope it's this month. >< I've been trying to hold out until RC1 but it's hard.
