BETA to final version?
Wil there become changes, in the database of the final version compare to the beta? so i just can upgrade the files whitout changing anyting in DataBase itself?!
Re: BETA to final version?
No one knows. The beta process is for shaking out bugs and honing existing features. We do know that so far during the beta phase, database changes have occurred.
Since phpBB betas are for use in testing environments only, the correct test procedure is to start clean with each new beta release.

Re: BETA to final version?
Correct.
An upgrade script will be provided (for vanilla boards only) for phpBB 2.0.21

AH - Bu**er. What about non vanilla earlier versions ?? I am running 2.0.17 with a few mods (all of which are now Olympus features) & all the mods were installed with easymod because I am a php dolt. The main reason I have not upgraded to 2.0.21 is due to conflicts that prevent easymod from doing the job ...
So - what's the likelyhood of being ableto install PHPBB3 (when it is released) and have it work with an existing database / membership list ???
Any input appreciated.

Re: BETA to final version?
The chance of the conversion supporting all your mods is zero, I would say. AFAIK, it will support exactly one MOD, which is attachments.
The good news is, you can update your board to the latest 2.0.x using the regular 2.0.x update process right before upgrading, because you won't have to worry about getting your mods re-applied (provided your mods did not alter the table structure in a way that alters the meaning of standard fields and tables - not very many do, only those that fundamentally change the core software may, such as a subforum mod).

Re: BETA to final version?
So, to approach the question another way.
If I were to simply install vanilla PHPBB2.0.21 and point it at my existing database what's likely to happen ? will it work and simply ignore the tables that relate to features that it does not support or will I have a puddle on the floor .....
And then run the upgrade path from 2.0.21 to 3.0 ...

Re: BETA to final version?
Well, that completely depends on your mods, basically. [Edit: I shot a quick glance to your site, the only thing I could discover was spelling cow and attachments. I don't think you need to worry about either of these - spelling will be ignored, and if the attachments mod is the one supported, you will even habe your attachments converted.] I think it working is more likely than not working, but don't take my word for it, test! There's no way of telling for sure until you try
