I installed CVS 2.1.2

Post by Timmer »

Yesterday I installed phpBB 2.1.2 on one of my test domains. All I can say is, "Wow." :)

Installation was way cool. Loved it.

I have played with a bunch of the new features and love them, too. I can't wait to get them on my production site. Some of these are badly needed to make my life easier.

I just wanted to share how thrilling it was and that I'm really looking forward to the official release of Olympus.

Great job! Keep up the good work. :)

I got a postcard from my friend George. It was a satellite photo of the entire Earth. On the back he wrote, "Wish you were here."

I just installed it too. I used to have extremephpbb because there were so many mods that I wanted to install. I am in the process of converting my live forum to 2.0.20 with the mods I want now. As soon as phpbb 3 is out I will convert, I can only think of one mod that I would want to install, which is the pjirc mod.

I am actually tempted to convert straight to 2.1.12 because it is so kick A$$.

It's 2.1.2, and it's strongly recommended that you don't do that, simply because there is no support for pre-beta implementations, and there is no guarantee of support moving from one beta to the next.
You can never go home again... but I guess you can shop there.

I know, I'm not going to upgrade until beta at least, but it is tempting.

Very tempting. ;)

I've already started development of a number of new projects based of Olympus and I'm just waiting for a beta to launch.

You are not the only one!

I have a half dozen under my belt as well, some cool MOD's I know 3 would never implement as standard features. I know I can make the adjustments needed by the time everything is granitized.

I'll third this.

I have one or 2 projects awaiting this myself. I wanna try and be the first to have this newest phpbb3 before anyone else has it related to what i do. One of the bigger sites with over 8,000 members and on the big boards list who does do the same uses the phpbb 2. So i wanna stay one up on them.

I feel the exact same way you do dude. This new software kicks so much ass, and it just BLEW me away. :) By the way, how do you get rid of "Debug Mode"?
