Hey I know 3.0 is still in it';s beta stage but is it possible to download it yet? And are 3.0 and Olympus the same? Sorry If I'm acting stupid. Thanks!

3.0 is Olympus, but it is not yet in beta stage. It is still in alpha phase, but you can visit the CVS page from http://www.phpbb.com" target="_blank to download the latest snapshot. Be warned though that there is no support and there is no guarantees that any snapshot will be compatible with either the beta or the final release. Cheers

the CVS page is a page that describes how to access CVS.
CVS is a version control system. It allows multipule developers to do work on the same code at once. The code it contains is what the developers are working on right now so is very new and can be a little buggy.
A snapshot is a copy of the files in CVS taken at an arbitary point in time. It may be behind CVS (or ahead if the snapshots are still taken from developer CVS instead of anon CVS but thats a sourceforge thing and not important really)
it is a copy of the entire system but it may not work, its hard to tell if its going to work purely because its not aswell tested because differant people have differant copies depending on which snapshot they downloaded or when they updated from the CVS server.
It is not a photo or picture

but its only for higher-skilled users 
and there is no script to upgrade from phpBB 2.0 yet, so you got to do it yourself and you need knowledge of SQL for that...
