Re: = Live Admin Panel Demo = [Beta1]
The CSS and Captcha issues have definitely been fixed, and I've already found about 3 bugs, which I'm sure everyone else has too, so I won't clog the trackers just yet

No, they will not. The MOD author will have to update it for phpBB3 and release a new version.
Re: = Live Admin Panel Demo = [Beta1]
hey is it a bug when I log in to the Admin Panel when asked to reauthenticate my username and password it is all in text with a white background? It has lost all its template structure.
also, why is the 'report post' text box so huge?

Re: = Live Admin Panel Demo = [Beta1]
The stylin problem was a fault with the temp fix I put in the template for the problem with the theme being read from the database that was messing up the whole of the styling. I adapted the fix to work there too.
DogCow, if you could go into the database and in [prefix_]styles_theme change theme_storedb to 0, then we could remove the fix. If you also either make the /styles/ folder writable, or prevent any changes to the theme from actually taking effect (by removing the code that causes theme_storedb to be set to 1) then it will prevent the problem from surfacing again. Hopefully they will fix it for beta2.

Re: = Live Admin Panel Demo = [Beta1]
Ok, I just tested and it would appear that the issue still occurs upon editing the theme. Which means the field is still being changed from 0 to 1, and the changes saved in the database for some reason. This doesn't happen on my local copy if /styles/ and contence are writable. However, if they aren't it tells me that it saved it to the database, which yours is not doing, suggesting it believes it has saved it to the styles folder.
I'm not sure why it's doing it, but, I've reinserted my fix for now. A quick check of making a change and seeing if it's been applied to the css files shows that they are not being saved there as shoulc be the behaiviour if it can write to the styles directory. Somewhere it's getting mucked up.
[EDIT]Ok, I found the load setting that tells it to load from the filesystem rather than the database. Should work without the fix now. I'll check to see if it does[/EDIT]
[EDIT2]Yep, works now. I guess that if phpBB 3 detects that it can't edit the styles folder, it automagically sets itself to use the database. Very clever. What it does mean is that if you decide to work via the filesystem later, you have to find the setting. Which is individually set for each setting (meaning that if you have alot of styles, and all the changes are taking up lots of database space, you have to change it individually for each theme and template, ie, if none of the styles shares, twice for each style. Not fun)[/EDIT2]
