How long do you think will the beta last?

How long do you guys think the beta will go on for? I am betting that they will get the beta out in a month or so...and then in anouther 2 months I really think its possible to see a release...

Opening the Bug Tracker was a great idea...most of the bugs will be fixed before the Beta comes out...so I am thinking the beta won't last long. 8)

...as long as the new style they are releasing is good to go...otherwise it may take a bit longer...

So, anyways...what do you guys think?

BETA will last as long as it needs to. If there are a lot of new bugs during BETA, it could be as much as 6 months. If not, maybe even less than a month. (Hopefully the latter).

imo, this is wildly optimistic.
i would say 6 months if everything is as smooth as a baby's butt, and 12 months should be the upper limit.
i'm talking about first beta to gold. the decision when to call something beta-x and when to switch to rc-x notation is too fuzzy to make any predictions about.

I don't think it will be more than 3 or 4 months, considering it will be mainly bug fixes and getting things such as the convertor for 2.0.x to 3 working. However, we could see Olympus following Google's way of doing things (*cough* Gmail) and having it in beta for over a year.
