What if the questions were definable per site?? And they had to be set during installation maybe??
Under the consideration that ~90% of phpBB users do not change their phpBB settings past the default set, I highly doubt the ability to add questions would help. Plus you would only need to get one right to register..

I see your point on this.. Why may I ask isnt the Visual Confirmation on by Default (im not sure if this has been reversed yet in .19.. I believe its in .20), then if this is the case??

That was the general idea. Implementing a system like this would be quite effective (probably unbeatable unless someone went to your specific site and found the answers to every possible question). Yes, it would require the admin to do a little more work, but could be very worth it.

I guess it would make a good mod once phpBB3 has been released.

Who wants to replace the visual confirmation bits with a plugin system like the search and login stuff so we can very easily use different visual (audio isnt too hard either) confirmation systems? ;)

When performing some online banking tranactions, I have to click my mouse an onscreen QWERTY keyboard in order to "type" in the characters.

Securing something with something that doesn't exist is probably harder.
Don't give me my freedom out of pity!
