It's very sad, that phpbb3/olympus is still not relased. I dont believe it will happened in 2006
I wonder if phpbb has future ( i like v.much this script). why it takes so long? I understand testing and reporting bugs, but i can't see any progress

PHP is not phpBB.
PHP is not phpBB.
PHP is not phpBB.
PHP is not phpBB.
PHP is not phpBB.
PHP is not phpBB.
PHP is not phpBB.
If you see no progress, then it's quite apparent you aren't paying much attention. If you feel like you are waiting too long, you're quite welcome to go and use whatever other forum solution that suits you better.

Re: Being tired of waiting and waiting
Yes of course i was thinking about olympus, not php3, i know that php is not phpbb.
I dont want to use other forum scripts, cuz im open source fan, and i like phpbb.
Slow progress - i heard about olympus long time ago, and from that time there is no beta version and no chances to see it in 2006 ---> that is sad

Well, if you don't want to use something else, then quit whining that its not out yet! Everyone else is waiting for it too, you're no different. And from what I've seen chances seem very good that it will be out in 2006, I'm not sure what you're basing your information on....sad wrote: I dont want to use other forum scripts, cuz im open source fan, and i like phpbb.

from this i take it you dont have any coding experience. VB and IPB for example, have bigger teams working on it. especially if it is a whole new version.sad wrote: Yes of course i was thinking about olympus, not php3, i know that php is not phpbb.

You should go easier on him. Be happy that someone is eager for your work to come out. I'm sure you've all been there, waiting what seemed like forever for an upgrade to come out with a feature you really want or need.
Re: Being tired of waiting and waiting
Heck, I've been waiting longer than most of you. Ive been on the edge of my seat since they started development in what? 2003?
I had one project that used phpBB mated to nuke that i HAD to upgrade and went with SMF becuase it worked so well with Joomla.
That being said, Im waiting as long as I need to to upgrade my bread and butter site with over 10K members to Olympus. Theres something to be said for Loyalty
