2.1 is the name of the development version you are seeing here. Originally it was planned to call the final version 2.2, but as this was becoming almost a complete rewrite, and we will lose compatibility with old Styles / MODs / language packs, we decided to bump the version up to 3.0.qwerty-1 wrote: Hi!

As for the numbering, this is a standard often used in software development. Your development versions will have an odd second number (2.1), and the final version will have an even number (2.2 or 3.0).

It means, that the following version of a forum after 2.0.* will be 3.0dhn wrote:2.1 is the name of the development version you are seeing here. I am right?

You are pretty much correct. BUT, minor remodels of 2.0 would still be 2.X. In other words, lets say a new version of 2.0 comes out, but it is based off of 2.0, not a complete re-write. The devleopment version will be called 2.1.X and the release 2.2.X A rework of that would yeild development version 2.3.X and final version 2.4.X.qwerty-1 wrote:It means, that the following version of a forum after 2.0.* will be 3.0dhn wrote:2.1 is the name of the development version you are seeing here. Now, if it is not a re-work or update of 2.0, and is almost a completely re-written software, the development version would then be 2.1 and the final would be version 3.0. 8) 8)
