Smilies

Post by Natan »

Someone brought this up in the Top Features thread.

Are these smilies to stay? I don't know what it is about them (maybe the eyebrows?), but I just don't like them. Any chance of getting new smilies?

You mean the default smilies? They're the same as they ever were. If you'd like others, you can always add them on your own.

Try here for some:

BTW, you're looking at a CVS version of phpBB.

I know I could get other smilies (I did in fact for my board), I'm just saying that if there was one thing bad about phpBB, it would be the smilies. I love everything else. They just look so...old fashioned I guess.

I like the new smilies too but you never know what the new style might bring...

I have a different question about smilies.
Will be an option of limit the smilies number in a post.
I am using 2.0.13 now and there is not such an option. These is not even a MOD for this.
Some of my users are teens. And sometimes I have more than 10 smilies per post.
This is too bad. The page becomes big and slow for viewing in a browser.
/I am not using the original smilies package. I am using another one with beautiful big emotes. But they have a bigger size also./
I know that other bulletin boards /I won't say names/ have this feature.
What about phpBB 3.0?
