This is a development forum,

if you want a review, pay a designer to review it,
if you want traffic, pay for advertising,
theres no such thing as a free lunch

phpBB, its open source, become involved, write a modification!

DavidLS: Isn't phpBB a free lunch? :D

At http://www.theadminzone.com" target="_blank (is this one of phpBB's "toolkit" yet?) people can review your site. Dunno about phpBB, but when people ask questions like this, on vBulletin (not that I have ever gone there :D) that's where they refer people to.

simply installing phpBB takes time away from you. it may be a negligable amount of time, but that's not really the concern of the "there is no such thing as a free lunch" principle.

also, i think forums can be submitted for review at phpbbhacks.com. i can't really comment as to the quality of their reviews, but it's better than nothing, i guess...

Cost to host the board? Oh, and if you use a free webhost, there's then then "cost" of having a decrease in quality. BTW, if you have a friend host a board for you, it is still not free, its simply is gift to you yourself, but he still has to pay.

In an effort to assist the poster, we offer a review section as well:
[SPAM]

But like Draegonis said, There ain't no such thing as a free lunch

In order to request a review there you need to provide three reviews of other members sites there first.

And please, don't consider that an attempt to spam. We have quite enough members there to satisfy us. Not attempting to recruit anyone, but just offering it as a "free" option if you really need a review.

Reason: It's still spam, no matter how you sugar coat it.

David is quite right to "go there". It is not up to you to judge what goes here and what does not. He was kind enough to given an explination. If that isn't your cup o' tea, then scoot. Either way, this topic's seen enough daylight.

Furthermore, in my experiance, I have found TAZ to be somewhat biased towards other forum solutions, and you will not get any kind of un-biased response for anything there.
