1) Password the compressed file. key = "unsupported"
2) Insert a default Announcement (just like the welcome message) saying so.

More ideas?

I'lll just reuse my old joke:

"By downloading this CVS compressed file, you hereby certify that in the event of reporting any bug or other inadequecies in the phpBB developmental software contained therein, or in the event of requesting support relating to the installation, unpacking, usage, or for any other reason whatsoever, on any forum or support board, or to any email address belonging or managed by the phpBB group, to the immediate, and unconditional surrender, in perpetuity, of all your assets, properties, and monies to the phpBB group."

Not only with the phpBB group be able to code all day thanks to their newly acquired cash, I guarantee that there will be a significant drop in bug reports.

Once installed the snapshop a popup apears telling something like:

Welcome to phpBB 2.1.2. You should post a hundred times "This is unsupported" before being able to access the brand new ACP.

Simplest would be removing the CVS snapshots altogether.

Nah, no one actually reads them, they just click "I agree". I know from experience. Anyway, my suggestion was practical :p
