Note that most of the features/improvements in phpBB 2.1.x/2.2 can also be added in phpBB 2.0.10 by installing various MODs from our MODs database. If you absolutely cannot wait but are no good at PHP/SQL, download and install phpBB 2.0.10, download and install EasyMOD 0.1.13 Beta 1, and then download and install all the MODs you want from the MODs Database. That should last you until phpBB 2.2 is released.

I have gotten easymod to work only once. The rest of the times I ended up having to do it by hand, as it said it had done it but really had done nothing.

It depends, EasyMOD does not work very well with non-english, non-subSilver boards.

For me, EasyMOD works most excellently with sub-silver and most (but not all) other themes.

I still prefer modding it on my own, I in fact learned php by modding alot of bulletin boards and the Xoops CMS system. I don't like easymod because you don't fully see what it does to you while whne you do it manually you see what you do yourself, same as I don't like pre-built computers, they may have a good outside, but you never know what is on the inside, because the specs on the tag of the machine usually aren too detailed.
