Does this board show you when search engines are scanning the page? Is this a nice new feature I spy or am I deluding myself?
Huh?

Re: Huh?
Yes, when search engines are spidering this forum, they show up as registered users. Another nice new feature

Re: Huh?
Not quite. Search bots are represented by a little different method than users. Permissions can be set for them, but they're not quite the same as users.
You can never go home again... but I guess you can shop there.

Please try the nifty search function of our small forum before you ask the next time. Most questions have already be answered. 8)

Re: Huh?
** yeah -- Bots are users in a special group and with restrictive permissions to let them peek around while keeping their dirty little fingers off some of the data

Re: Huh?
Although this is speculation (somebody before me suggested the idea) on my part, since "W3C" shows up as a bot as well but they don't have a search bot, evidently when somebody does a W3C validation even that shows up, which I think is very cool. Why do I think it's cool? I dunno ... just one of the many little things about 2.2 that I just find cool.
Of course, if I'm wrong about the W3C "bot," then boy am I gonna be embarrassed ...
