Considering programmer types are supposed to have more initiative than the general populace... one would have thought they'd look at the most obvious place first... say Google:hater wrote:I suppose it is my mistake to assume I would receive friendly moderation from an opensource free fora also?
As for friendliness... it's just firm and neutral answer, though if you expected molly-coddling... yeah I guess one would be rather disappointed.Google wrote:Results 1 - 10 of about 1,240,000 for IE can't view source. (0.28 seconds)
The answer you were looking for is even on Microsoft's own site:hater wrote: I wasn't fishing for any answer. There was no right or wrong there to even presume that it was an answer I was or was not looking for. As much as I am greatful for the work that is put into phpBB, I am also thankful for your descending attitude as it reminds me of why I enjoy programming so much; to eventually take over the hardass cranky people that seem to have lost their willingness to provide the moderation they seem to have somehow weasled there way into, even on an opensource product.![]()

A bug from Internet Explorer 4.0 for NT4 which still exists over half a decade later.
If you're suffering from "loss of face", then I can see why you would try and deride the moderation team as "hardass cranky people". Winking at me is not going to change how your post is viewed.
Still, if you think you can write and support a better product... they you're welcome to do so by all means.
I'll ignore the fact that IE issue has been there for over 5 years.hater wrote: So, we can continue getting the last word on one another as long as we'd like, which seems to take place quite a bit on this devboard after reviewing some heated debates, however the eventuality is that I will be banned if I become a nuescence so I digress and suggest this topic be locked as it seems the ultimate answer is that I am a retard for using IE and asking a pretty simple question that searching here specifically didn't answer.![]()
I'll ignore the fact that Google returns over 1 million results on the search term for the symptom of the problem (and solutions there of)
I'll ignore the fact that you'd probably have seen this behaviour in not just phpBB2.2, but also other websites using things of no relation to phpBB whatsoever.
Would it have been that difficult to just try an alternative browser? Simple debugging... "Does X still happen when Z is used instead of Y?"
No, the thing to remember is do better research first.hater wrote: Going forward I'll try and remember that we're not really here to benefit from each other, but rather to point out the foibles of those that haven't been involved with things day in and day out since the beginning.8O
