Bump topic

Post by modenaf1 »

For the bump feature, I really like this feature, expecially how it says last bumped by etc. But, I set it to 1 min, and in 1 min it alows me to bump it, but I cannot bump it again after that, even if something else is on top. Is that just an error or was it intended to be that way? If it was intended that way I might have to add something to the late feature requests.

Really........It could have been intended that way...

1.) becuase if a topic is bumped more than once then it must really be a topic no one wants to post in, meaning it would be useless for people to keep bumping it over and over again and 1 time is enough

2.) I was trying to figure out if it was intended for it to not show up a second time becuase I had an idea but I want to know if it is an error or it is intended that way before I add my idea to the tracker

I do expect things to be broken, just with a thing like this I wanted to make sure becuase I would not want to add something the sourceforge thingy if it already existed. Or I would not want to just expect that it is broken and not add it to sourceforge and it goes beta and it is too late. It does say "last minute feature requests" And I know they do not like it if a feature gets added and it already exists

But anyways, thanks for the replys guys

Cheers!

Last Minute Feature Requests.
Not last minute bug reports.
The bump topic control feature is already implemented.
So it's either:
1) A Bug, or
2) A mod that should be written after phpBB2.2's release.

You do not report any bugs currently. Beta is not too late for bug-reports. Public beta is the time where we want bug-reports. Not a moment before that.

See VxJasonxV's reply, though, I don't see the relevance with the MOD. Probably lack of coffee. Or something.

He is not reporting a bug people. Geeze. He wants to know from the developers not us whether this is how it is supposed to work.

I would say add the request to the tracker. If he devs like it they will put it in. If they already planned it no harm done.

Unfortunatley around here your not gonna get much of an answer from these guys. 90% of the posts here at area 51 are wanna be moderators who just *beep* at people. Sadly there is not much relevant discussion going on.

I don't recall anyone in the course of this topic claiming that he was actually reporting a bug

I think we realise that, since that question has been answered.

I wouldn't. No-body has confirmed whether what the topic starter is experiancing is actually a bug or not. If it's a bug, there's absolutley no need to clog up the tracker more that it already is.

Apart from your vastly over-exaggerated percentage quote, I think we have due reason for getting annoyed at certain people, who appear to lack simple manners, common sense, basic netiquette, patience, etc, etc, etc.
Sadly there is not much relevant discussion going on.
Perhaps if you actually took a good look around the rest of the forum, you'd find you're quite wrong there.
