I still have the old trailer.

...as do I....
[quote6ed3d] They didn't think about Spiderman any longer but remembered those glorious buildings. This is not what the film makers want!

eh, good point I suppose. I just hope they don't let the public bend this movie too much, otherwise it could be another Capt. America or The Punisher movie (i.e., it could suck). Also, what's with Spidey's webbing coming out of his body now rather than home-made shooters? I mean, that IS the way I always thought it should be, but it just changes the whole integrity of the comic's story and origins. So what, now Spidey is even more of a mutant? Are they just building us up for a Spidey/X-Men crossover? Speaking of which, they had better make X-Men 2 pretty damn quick - before Magneto dies (he was too old). On that note, what was with the age difference between Jean Grey (Famke) and Scott? Hell, she could have been his mom. That was poor casting. As was Hale Berry - she is a piece of wood....
[/end rant]
Which movie are you looking forward to?

I work at a Famous Players, and I totally agree with us pulling anything and everything that could be offensive. Hate to sound like a bell tolling for the company, but guest service is first priority there - we kick our own asses ensuring that every guest goes out of that place having had a positive experience.
Don't even try bringing up the cost, if you'd ever seen an expense list for a movie theatre, you'd see hundreds of things that you'd never thought of before... we charge as little as we possibly can, unfortunately, that amount happens to be $12.95 CDN... just don't bring it up, it's a touchy subject with me, I've heard it far too many times from ignorant guests who are only worried about themselves. Oh well, comparing the tragedy of our high prices to the tragedy of the WTC really tends to shut the guests up quickly... puts things into perspective in an instant.
Speaking of the World Trade Center, back to my original point... we don't want to offend a single person, and frankly, when I was going to the movies the week after the WTC, it was mainly to get my mind off of the thousands of dead, because I'd had enough of it to make me sick. If I saw the World Trade Center or the Pentagon in any trailers or movies, it would totally wreck the experience for me.
But the Spiderman trailer was incredible, saw it at SilverCity Richmond Hill, was a sold out show of Final Fantasy, and I was front-row center. Every single person cheered insanely after both the Lord of the Rings and Spiderman trailers, they're going to be two incredible movies.
As far as Reloaded, I'm not sure they'll be able to do the first movie justice - there were so many things I liked about that movie that just can't be duplicated... as long as they continue the tradition of shooting the big shooting scenes to the sounds of Lunatic Calm, it should still be good

I can't wait for LOTR, that will rule, Matrix2 has potential, but come on - the real deal is MULLHOLLAND DRIVE, which opens wide Friday. Lynch rules.
[/quote63c21]
I did exclude Mullholland Drive as it already did run in some areas.
But I am also looking forward to "Man, that wasn't there". The Coen brothers are some of the best film makers out there at the moment.
Here is the trailer:

Interesting site note: "Man who wasn't there" and "Mullholland Drive" share the golden palme for best director.

I hate to break it to you Kanuk but ticket sales go 100% to the film company, the theaters keep none. The theaters make money from food, and money paid to them to show the movies. Talk to the guy in charge of the theater/mega-cenima-complex that you work in, I suspect he'll tell you the same. And tell them to the next customer that complaines
Anyway...go back to the topic at hand

hmmm ... CN $ 12.95 hmmm ... exchange rate of 77.95 yen per 1 canadian and you get the Monday rates for Women or 1 once a month deals ... or if you're over 60
whacha bitchin about ??? I pay double to see a movie that's all ready a rental in the states !!!!
Except I get to bring dinner / drinks ... beer into the theater and always have a choice of seats except for the first day showings
Warner is smarter -- run their own theaters and prevent the food smuggling!
hmmmm .... only major complaint is that I laugh about 10-20 seconds before the rest of the Audience who are stuck reading horrible subtitles ... hehe can't translate English smut very well into Japanese and the nuance at times is way off ...
so it's pretty embarrassing ... everyboddy is so serious at the theater ... no good laughs....
MY wife beat me blue for laughing during the exorcist - directors cut ... ohhh
the language was great ...
hahahahaha

That's not quite correct - after all, why do you think different theatre chains charge different amounts of money for the same movie? Some of the money - very little, but still some - goes to the theatre's operating costs, about 25% goes towards amusement and sales taxes, etc... some of the money is paid flat by the production company, but lots of it comes from ticket sales, too. Otherwise we wouldn't pull the movies with crappy sales (like Bubble Boy), and keep the movies that still rake people in regularly (we still play Shrek!).

In one of my stints as a projectionist, my theatre played Dances with Wolves for 63 consecutive weeks, while things like Dracula, Goodfellas, and Cape Fear came and went....
All of you MUST pay to see Mullholland Drive this weekend!!! Support true film!! And keep an eye on DavidLynch.com for launch by next month.
This has been your frendly neighborhood garbage police.

Kanuck: Hmm, perhaps it works different at Famous Players. I worked for Cineplex Odion for about 2 months and there all our box office money wen't to the film company. Perhaps thats why Cineplex is going out of buisness now..hehe
