I rather prefer SDK for phpbb2.2 maybe with little manual because "general" portals are already there(nuke etc). Something to support me building my custom front page based on bb would be great.

I have been messing with the code for 2 months. I can't wait to install a beta on my site. I will probably do it for testing.

Huh?

nuke is for 2.0... and i've tried it, and all i can say is that i hate it! I'm writing one for me, i like doing it, i like using my own scripts, and it will be publically avaliable. Its also not module based...

I've been playing with the code too... but i've managed to get a CVS installed, which is how i've been testing.

I can't stand nuke. I like modules, but nuke is so hard to look at. I have installed it and personalized it. The boxy columns and just about all of the nuke type sites are easy to seek from a mile a away. They all look alike.

I just think they are too hard to personalize. I may be wrong, but phpbb is so much easier to personalize.

Yes, i can only agree.

When i installed nuke on my personal server, A Bad Blue (not Apache, but it works...) and it was hurrendous. I had hundreds of errors everywhere - and the forums just refused to work. I gave up after 5 minutes.

The portal i'm developing, the complete style is determined by overall_header.htm and overall_footer.htm and the blocks are just in there...

Well, im not going to go on heh... i'll probably have a CVS set up soon & uploaded... i doubt phpbb will welcome thins much right now...

I just stated my opinion on this, i sorry to hear you both dont like nuke and i am sure, DoD, you can make yourself nice portal. Hell, i can make myself nice portal but open source is about reusing already made code i am not going to spend few months on such big project if i dont see anything that i can do better from something already made. That just me, im not big programmer or anything.
Maybe this more belong to requests but i really like to see SDK, for people like DoD and me. I did some front page myself which havealy relies on php2.0 and docs and functions list would be much of a help.

sdk = software development kit or
kit that helps you to develop for particular software eg
* Documentation
* Function list and brief explain.
* Additional function to interface the software
(lets say you need function to show last 5 messages)

I like the idea of a phpBB portal. At the minute, I'm using phpBB 2.0.6 with ezportal as a community site. But a phpBB portal would be nicer :)

Yes,

I am sorry:
I too have made my own portal page. I like the idea of having a phpbb portal that is made from scratch to work specifically with phpbb. Nuke is ok, I just found it buggy and ugly. I can cure the ugly, but do not want to fight the buggy (although I could probably do that too).

Chuck
was suppose to be a reply and not a new topic. I have tried for years to get my site perfectly integrated with phpbb. I am very excited to use the new features of 2.2 to finish the site.
