Enhanced Group Settings

Post by Gogeta »

Well, A Group should be like Invision Board, vBulletin; Where you give the groups sertain permissions. Well, The basic idea of this request is enabling/disbaling alot of useful features! For example, Give a user group access to Only lock topics! Etc. Ony allow the group to use their signature and not the PM system and stuff!

I think phpBB22 with this will be a very good forum solution!

You've not really spent much time looking @ phpBB have you ;) Usergroup permissions have been fundamental in 2.x from the beginning ... more so than "other" solutions. In 2.2 with the increase in permission options it goes further still and does exactly as you describe but in a more flexible manner than "other" solutions.

Like I said, you haven't looked @ phpBB 2.x for very long ;) 2.0.x has a high level of usergroup/user permissions ... 2.2.x goes much further

The permissions system was one of the first things to be implemented. I think it's [almost] finished by now.

It's implemented, but it's not well rounded, of course. I'm also concerned with the way the default permissions are set (no one can do anything), but thats going to change. Aaah, but there are so many options! More options == <3
