Another GREAT idea!

I would like to have a feature which does following:
The users can choose their country for example and when they've chosen one.. A flag is being shown under their name... Is this possible for version 2.2?

I also want a feature where the admin can see other users PM's etc...

erm, how many times now have you been told not to post requests here? We have a feature tracker on our page at sourceforge, please use that. But no, we won't be adding "flags" to profiles nor will we allow admins to read private messages between other users.

I think it is nutzzy who made the Flag mod for 2.0.x, so I'm sure he'll probably update that to work with 2.2 (hopefully :D)

Flag MOD could be used but I think it can inflict some issues (especialy in these days...) also its a waste of webspace (altough pics if properly optimised dont take up much space but each kb contributes to the bandwidth used).

And about the admin reading users PM's I think that is just downright nasty. Users give the trust in the admin not to read their private stuff...Why do you think they are called Private Messagess?

In addition, user passwords are encrypted for this very reason.

It protects you from bad administratorss.

On top of that. All an admin *would* need to do to read a PM is to hit the database.

However, by not including a feature in phpBB to allow an admin to read PMs means that phpBB is actively discouraging the practice.

Unfortunately anyone with rights to read the DB or backup the DB can see what is in PM's though not as easily as with the mod. The only way no one can tap into a conversation is one on one in a boat out in the middle of a huge lake.

I left a board once because I found out they had a PM reading mod. I don't think it's right and I see no reason why board admins should be like the US government.
