Okay... perhaps someone will get on my case for overusing elipsies (...'s) but I see way too much use of smilies on the Net these days. I do not recall ever using a smiley, nor do I plan on it. As I once read:

I just noticed it, but if you use Mozilla browser you can drag the Emoticons' underlying link into the text message box!
That is - mouse over the emoticon on the left, then left click-and-hold, then drag the selected emoticon into the message area where you are editing the text.
Now you do not get just the phpBB code for the emoticon, but you also get the complete anchor data. that is :
