Will 2.2 have the cron job for automatic backup?
It would be nice to have it! It can backup to local server or ftp to another :D

Of course, it'be nice.
But it is simply impossible.

The only way would be to make a program on your PC that grabs the database once per week.

it's not impossible. on very busy sites, remember, the board software runs almost continuously.

nope. Cron, as in crond as in a service which runs specified commands on a regulart schedule.

It's possible. On my site, I can place bans for a certain time and each time a page loads, a small script runs and sees if any bans have reached their time limit and deletes them from the table.

A simialr trick is played by the vanilla install of phpBB 2.x to remove those topics requiring pruning.

phpBB2.2 is planned to have an events system where such an action might be possible ...
