vBulletin is too large and has too many features that I did not use and did not need. I sold my copy and have been happy with phpbb every since.. It evades me why anyone would pay for it.

I am faithful user of phpBB and will continue even after it take 6-12 more months.. I just want it done right.
It is not coming out this year. No beta, and no alpha. Happy?

maybe it would help everyone if a time frame for when it is going to come out as far as

WILL IT BE
WEEKS, MONTHS or YEARS

????

I know the developers have to have some sort of idea to answer the simple question above.

The frustration is apparent in almost all supports/users of phpBB. Some finally break and just come out and ask the question that must not be asked and others sit and troll the other end of the spectrum by continuing to bombast those that broke ranks.

I am not very vocal on these boards but I have been coming here a couple times a week for the last two years (the last year with some hope of a horizon that has waned). I usually read a couple of these threads after seeing no notice current progress then leave wondering why I keep coming back.

I got a laugh today though seeing this

Nearly as many bots as supporters and not a single new post for this day under discussion.

Well, guess I'll be back in a couple more days... maybe Paul or Meik will feel generous and toss a bone or two out to the masses.

Yes.
if you reread the post there was an "OR" in the question therefore the only answers that actually pertain o the questions would be "it will be" 1) weeks or 2) Months or 3) years

Yes is not an answer to this question. Please only people that are actually part of this project answer the question, not just a normal user that has no knowledge of the subject. Thanks

Since the developers aren't committing themselves to any time you aren't going to get an answer. You will just have to wait like the rest of us.

Well, it is...

He's quite correct. Yes, it will be weeks, months or years :)

It's just not an answer that you want to hear. Sadly, there's no way you'll get a better one any time soon.

i have an idea how we could get a rough idea of the release date!!!!

see how long it took for phpbb to release phpbb2 from phpbb1..

That would give a roug idea give or take a few months

(MABY EVEN YEARS!)

That will provide no useful information, as the development team is different, and has different responsibilities.
You can never go home again... but I guess you can shop there.
