Re: Karma Level
But it should tell you in some way that you have already rated that post. Because even after you have rated it, it doesn't tell you if you have already done it or not.

Re: Karma Level
Oh. So then you can rate in one direction only once. Makes sense. Probably a good thing to do would be to remove/hide the option that has not been clicked.psoTFX wrote:So you can change your mind
This is really cool!

Re: Karma Level
Is there a way for admins to disable the Minimum User Karma option (this one that hides posts under that level) on the User Control Panel so that every user would read all posts regardless of Karma level?

Re: Karma Level
Hum... I really want to know if that option exists or if it will exist someday! Even a "we don't know yet" would serve as an answer

Re: Karma Level
I hope so, but most likly you will be able to set the default show level for all new usersI hope so, but most likely you will be able to set the default levels for that all new users start out with. This would solve your issue, unless you want to force everyone to see all messages. Is this what you want?

Re: Karma Level
Karma is targeted for Milestone 4 (We are shortly before MS2 ATM). The implementation you are seeing in here should be considered as a test run to evaluate the best system. So, I doubt the developers already have decided on the final options the Karma functionality will feature.

Re: Karma Level
Oh, well. Thanks a lot!
I was asking this because I'm telling some people about this forum, and when I mentioned Karma, there were some people who didn't like it at all (mainly because of the "auto-ignore" feature)

Re: Karma Level
Why not only use a GOOD karma scale?
A GOOD only karma scale (0 to 5/10) would have more or less the same effect as a -5 to +5 rating when it comes to encouraging users to post useful/popular posts. Also, it wouldn't be so "fun" to abuse it if the scale never turned to minus (only 0).
Of cource, the GOOD/BAD rate would still be there to send the user up and down the GOOD karma scale.
The reason for not wanting the BAD (red) scale:
- Users can feel that they are not welcome and stop posting if they reach the RED scale.
- More users would propably register with new usernames to start fresh.
- Users may possible be more careful with what they write so that they dont get on the RED scale. This is not only a good thing.
So, praise the good ones, and dont punish the bad ones
This is my humble upinion!

Wouldn't be fun to abuse it? I think you underestimate the "idiocy" of some users Some people, the ones most likely to try and break the system will require absolutely no reason to do so
Re: Karma Level
I'm sure that more then one is in the category you mention But its not that "fun" to get someone down to zero, instead of -5. My point was that users will only have a positive scale.psoTFX wrote:Wouldn't be fun to abuse it? What do you think of the idea?
