Will there be a possibility to only allow moderators to rate posts?
And also, will there be possible to enter a reason (ie not just good/bad)?
I would like a karma-system that allows moderators to rate posts positive/negative and supply a reason (maybe misinforming/cross-posted/personal attack/etc...), and maybe define multiple levels of how good/bad it is (more positive karma for certain types of posts, and vice versa).

Very robust suggestions. I think the Karma System's greatest strength is in its simplicity.

Yes, but I run a forum where we have pretty strict rules and sometimes members enjoy breaking these, and it would be good to specify what kind of rule regulation it was. And also, another advantage for this would be for users to find important posts, ie moderators may rate posts to be "Excellent", and if a user is searching for posts telling how to install some new software (just an example) they could possibly choose to just search for posts with that rating, so they get just the ones they need instead of *beep* of unimportant posts that ask questions about installing etc.

Uhm, english is not my native language, but I'll hope you understand anyway. It would simplify the search for the good posts you want, in a very nice way. :)

Karma system is far from done, so perhaps some of this stuff has a chance.

I think a permission setting for "Rate Posts" would be cool, but I don't think reasons for the rating given is very practical.

Multiple levels of "Good / Bad" may also be useful in some instances, but I for one either think a post is good enough to rate or bad enough to rate, or just don't care. So this system fits my thinking perfectly.

Well, I'm not sure. I haven't looked at CVS... but, still, it would be cool. :)

Uhm, maybe it's overkill for most forum-admins (I would shure like it tho :D). But atleast we should have the possibility to search only for posts rated as good/bad. :)

Lets wait with suggestion like this until the developers start working on the search system. OK? ;)
