Forum Management

Post by Kuma »

In the admin board it's really hard to actually manage forums. Perhaps I need to tweak it a bit in order to work, since I see it working here.

I've tried to create a few "sub-forums" in different parent forums [I still love the category system in 2.0.4, this new system is kinda messy] and everytime I click "allow topic images" and save, it changes the parent topic to "non-postable" automatically, if I change the parent forum to postable again, it makes the sub forum unpostable and so on.

It's a vicious cycle :) Thought I'd rant here about it. Cause I need to get it out of my system.

Congrats on everything else pso, acyd, and the rest of the devs, things are looking very sweet for this new version of the board. In its alpha state, most of it works, and what's implemented right now, so far it's very good. Keep the good work and the constant cvs [I update my test board everytime you guys update something thanks to winCVS] changes.

hhmmm, alpha software ... perhaps I should plaster that in the banner space? ;) and :D

You'll quickly get used to the new setup of defining forums, I know I did ... However I'm always listening to sensible, well thought out and relevant suggestions as to how to improve what exists.

Nah, you shouldn't. It's pretty clear that the CVS is alpha software right now...a lot of things may get added/edited/dropped and some things simply do not work :) I get that part.

I just needed to vent out some frustration of the forum management in my phpbb2.1 test board, since I know in here it works. I'll get it sooner or later...hopefully.

Btw, change my spanish language suggestion, I know a lot of spanish-speakers who find the current language default in php [Spanish (Argentina)] to be strange.
