I did but it's still not working. and yes i backed up my config file and re uploaded that

Check in config.php for the right database.

If you are using mysql you should have this line:

[code:177eed]$dbms = "mysql";[/code:177eed]

that error looks like its from RC-1 (pre), RC-1, RC-2 or RC-4
