The bit about psoTFX losing the plot needs to be preserved at all costs. The early posts especially are an irreplaceable part of phpBB history. At least let the Group and the moderators put together a scrapbook of the best of the thread. You'll be glad you did

Well... a the diff of the db can be imported... will have all the new stuff... then unwanted bit can be pruned.
