If you mean will we release a Karma mod ourselves contained in the contrib/ directory (for example) the answer is no.
No, Mr. Owen, I was reffering, say if I took an older copy of phpBB2.1.x from the CVS and turned the karma code into a MOD which members could install if they so wished, if that would be validated. I do understand that you (the phpBB team) won't release it yourself.
Sincerely,
Christian
PS: keep up the good work! phpBB2.2 is going to rock the house of BBs

Yes, it would get validated if it follows the standards psoTFX pointed out. All code in the sourceforge CVS falls under the GPL license, so you can feel free to use it for your own MOD.
I plan to develop a version of my Rating system Mod for 2.2 (when it's released). This might meet the requirements of some of you who are looking for Karma functionality
If you're interested, I'd welcome your comments in the following thread:
I have actually got one, yes even if it does nothing more than output a message
It was more a curiosity thing to check that I'd understood part of the code correctly - the fact that one of last weeks checkins tells me that the functionality of that part of the system (ACP) is liable to change drastically is another matter
