Re: Public beta?
I thought this one would have been done by now. Over 6 months and counting. I am glad to see they are working toward making this a good release though, it is better done right.
Re: Public beta?
I'd like to think that they intend to do a lot with the private messaging system seeing as it's isolated into its own portion of the roadmap.lord idiot wrote:it istrenzterra wrote:Well, just hope for Milestone 4 to be a relatively small milestone, and it should be released this year. Re: Public beta?
Possibly. It also could be part of the fact that in phpBB 2.0.x, privmsg.phpis just over 2100 lines and 71KB which is the largest file. The second largest file is install/upgrade.php, coming in at 1900 lines and 57KB. But as for "main" files, search.php is 1400 lines and 42KB Also, my original impression was always that it's a rather complex system to create. I'm not a PHP guru, so what do I know? Not Radio wrote:I'd like to think that they intend to do a lot with the private messaging system seeing as it's isolated into its own portion of the roadmap.

Re: Public beta?
As I understand it, part of the idea with private messaging is to re-use some of the code from posting, hence why it has been left until after that has been done. As a result it won't be necessary to write the whole thing from the ground up
Re: Public beta?
After downloading a cvs version today I noticed something weird... absolutely no progress has been made for at least a couple weeks (in terms of changed files). Did the Group take a break after M2 or due to Easter holiday? Is it due to real-life commitments?
I don't mean to push things, I just got worried

Re: Public beta?
Developers do not commit every single code change of a feature they are working on to the CVS immediately. So, I'd say there is a lot of progress on the developer's local systems that is not yet commited. They also tend to test stuff on here, before it is put into CVS.iliasch wrote:After downloading a cvs version today I noticed something weird... absolutely no progress has been made for at least a couple weeks (in terms of changed files). And, yes, real-life may sometimes slow development.
