Dear development team,
As you may have seen in the topic I posted on the phpBB.com convertors forum, I'm planning to write the convertor for vBulletin 3.0 to phpBB 2.2.
Before I start with my initial development and research, I would like to know from you guys at what stage you think it would be usefull for me to start. Is the database schema (MySQL) already kind of fixed, or are major changes expected before a RC/Final version?
Now that vB3 is nearing final, I think starting to write the basics of this converter makes good sence, so that it is finished as soon as phpBB 2.2 reaches a RC state that allows the more experienced users to start running it.
What do you think? Any suggestions?

Certain aspects of the schema are unlikely to change ... but I cannot swear to it. There are still some "fairly" significant changes to come in the way of forums (directly or indirectly), language, private messaging.
I would say that once M-3 completes, PM aside the schema shouldn't change much. Most M-4 tasks involve new tables for features which simply do not exist in vB or other board software (though they do offer some similar functionality).

Okay, so I could probably start with the conversion of the users, just to get into the code of both projects and wait with the real development for M-3 to complete.
Thanks for replying, if I need your feedback on anything, can I email you, or do you prefer me asking things here on area51? Obviously I won't spam you with questions, as you're busy enough
