No thanks.
vB3 is so bloated.

So very true! Same goes for IPB actually... I tested it out recently and you simply get overwhelmed with so many features and options that you don't know what to do anymore.
phpBB is so much more user friendly :D

In a way, But when you come to think about it, IPB is not bloated. It's what you need.

phpBB has .. every feature you will use around every day. vBulletin only around 2 months.. maybey?

The solution is that which we note all the time ... you should use what works best for you. If you need all the features of IPB, use IPB. If you need all the features of vB use vB. The extremely annoying thing (for us) though are those people who see X feature in Y board and decide phpBB must also have it ... when they themselves will use said feature once a year :) Pointless.

I say phpBB has mod-installers.

Or, phpBb comes with EasyMod! :D.

Just kidding, damn.

For the record, Gogeta, Paul has stated that EasyMOD may be packaged with phpBB (in a similar fashion to how dbinformer.php is included in 2.0, assumedly). I'd assume that EasyMOD would have to be at 1.0, but now I'm really guessing out in left field :D

I think its a smart idea to look at the compition, take a look at what they aredoing wrong. Look at there offical boards, find out what there customers want. Sorry, but don't you want people to use your forum script? Do you want people to say phpBB is infer to the others? Strike them where it hurts, find there current weekness and strike them there. Find out what the other guy isn't doing, and do it. People will look at you, in awe of amazment :) And I do have tons of ideas, but not sure if phpBB group is able to carry out these wishes (not even sure if ANYone can do this..)

Um.No kidding?!?!?! We have a very active forum (not to mention a place to request features) where people can make their wishes known.
Sorry, but don't you want people to use your forum script?
When did the devs say that?

Tired of putting words in the mouths of others yet? You use an illogical form of fallacy known as a Straw Man argument Simply putting words (falsely I might add) in the mouths of the devs and then knocking down that nonsensical take on the situation isn't going to make your point.

If you had done even the most preliminary sort of research, you would know this has (and is) already happening. Many of phpBB's features have been (and will likely continue to be) borrowed by Jelsoft and others.

You know where to add feature requests. And if you don't, please note that judicious use of the "search" option will definitely be edifying to you in this regard. The code for phpBB is open source and you are welcome to take that code and make it whatever you want it to be.

If all you have to add is mindless bitching, then pardon me while I take your thoughts on this matter with an industrial sized grain of salt.
