Oh... now I'm starting to think about using it as an "advice level"... like, if you make a rule violation the moderators could put an advice level to that user as a warning, and when he reaches X level, he'll be banned... hmm... it's a good idea... but I'm still trying to get a purpose for the good side...Roberdin wrote:Yes it can be turned off completely. You can also control permissions on it as always - per user/group, per forum.
So, for example, only members of a trusted group would be able to rate other people, and only in a certain forum, for example.

Re: Karma Level
I think at least 90% of boards will turn of this Karma Level.
Would it be beter to distribute it as a MOD?

Re: Karma Level
There is no way for you to actually determine how many people will use it. I find it very informative.Einstein wrote:I think at least 90% of boards will turn of this Karma Level.

The karma functionality has already been built into 2.2. Why would the developers rip it out and add it back as a MOD? Just turn it off...

Re: Karma Level
Just for clarity, Paul did say over here that no final decision has been made on karma yet, either how it will work or if it will be included ... and I think he's suggested that we just leave the final decision up to the developers, so I take it that they aren't actively seeking feedback on karma at this point.

Re: Karma Level
If you can specify who can use the karma system and who can't, it's simple.
Leave it on for all mods/admins. They'll decide who's rated. Cut's down on database whoring and such.
If not, turn it off, don't use it, make your own system, or find a MOD once one is released.

Re: Karma Level
Well... I've not been here for a while... and now it looks like the Karma Level has been removed... or at least it's not visible for now... maybe they canceled it so we can have a beta in february.
Re: Karma Level
No, it's completely removed. Have a search, the reason has been discussed a couple of times
