While sevral months ago Cvs updating was working fine, I tried now using command prompt and even directly TortoiseCVS (which is the program I use) and it's impossible to upadte because:
"Authorization failed: server cvs.phpbb.sourceforge.net rejected access to /cvsroot/phpBB for user anonymous"

Re: Cvs problem
Ok im not here to play the brainiac but as far as I know there is no support for CVS. Also its not reccomended for use on the live site...
the word evil cannot even describe me....
Re: Cvs problem
Odd, I haven't had any problems updating from CVS. But there hasn't been any new commits for the last few weeks.
There is my CVSROOT setting: :pserver:[email protected]:/cvsroot/phpbb
With module set to: phpBB2
Try this in a clean directory where there isn't an existing copy of phpBB.

Soresforge is probably playing silly buggers...
Just give it time, a few whacks with a baseball bat, and it should be fine. 8)

Re: Cvs problem
The sourceforge CVS servers have been haviong maintinence performed on them recently, so they have been acting up a bit.

I don't think the SourcForge servers have ever worked optimally...just too much load.

Re: Cvs problem
I don't get it but y should there be CVS if the phpBB admins don't give out the support for our needs.
If they don't support it, then they shouldn't release phpBB 2.1 or 2.2

We haven't "released" anything ... you can access CVS and you can download snapshots. I'm sorry but I fail to see how our refusal to offer support for a developmental version of something means we have to close all access down (not that we could even if we wanted to)? Are you incapable of not downloading something? Do you have to click on every link and expect to receive support for anything you download? Of course not ...

You dont actually know what a CVS is... do you?anyentertainment wrote:I don't get it but y should there be CVS if the phpBB admins don't give out the support for our needs.

The CVS is so people can see the code, how its going... maybe try it out. It isnt finished... and the devs have much better things (like finishing it
CVS is a privilage! I'm really glad to have access and i'm perfectly happy that the devs dont give support (as i dont need it
